A Nutcracker Christmas

Are you in love with all things Nutcracker and ballet? Well, consider theming your Christmas around this popular Christmas time theme. We’ll show you how to set the Christmas table, wrap your gifts, trim your tree and style your sweet treats to suit this theme.

We chose a soft pastel colour scheme of pink, mint, light blue and white. The partyware, gift wrapping and decorations were chosen to give a soft, pretty and whimsical look to this setting.

Nutcracker Christmas table The table has been set with a plain white linen tablecloth and then overlayed with some star tulle fabric from Spotlight.

A glitzy gold runner from Typo adds some sparkle but as an alternative you could use wrapping paper in gold and white . The floral centrepiece is a mix of faux and real flowers. The faux can be done ahead of time and then just a few fresh blooms the day before Christmas to add freshness. Scatter the table with LOVE and JOY acrylic decorations.

The placesettings are simple but stylish. We layered a gold foil paper plate on top of a china plate, then added a mint green napkin. Add a nutcracker Christmas cracker and a matching cupcake at each place setting to bring in the nutcracker theming.

Nutcracker Themed cookies

We also had some cookies made to match the Nutcracker crackers by Jess at Little Biscuit.

Nutcracker cups on tray

For a bit of fun, serve your guests a refreshing drink in a nutcracker cup, complete with gold foil straw. Make life easy for yourself and have everything laid out on a white tray before guests arrive.

Make your Christmas decorating so much easier by wrapping your gifts in similar colours and patterns to suit the Nutcracker theme. That way they add to the overall decorating around the house without giving you extra work.
